การเปิดเผยรายชื่อผู้เข้าชิงรางวัล ’18 Korean Popular Music Awards’ วง BTS ได้รับการเสนอชื่อเข้าชิง 5 ประเภททำให้มีความคาดหวังมากขึ้นสำหรับรางวัลนี้
ในวันที่ 26 คณะกรรมการคัดเลือกรางวัลเพลงยอดนิยมของเกาหลีได้จัดงานแถลงข่าวออนไลน์เพื่อประกาศรายชื่อผู้เข้าชิงรางวัล ‘ Korean Popular Music Awards ครั้งที่ 18’ ผ่านช่อง YouTube: Korean Popular Music Awards’
ในงานแถลงข่าววันนั้นคิมชางนัมประธานคณะกรรมการคัดเลือกของรางวัล Korean Popular Music Awards รวมถึงสมาชิกคณะกรรมการคัดเลือกจองจินยองและคิมยุนฮาได้เข้าร่วมและประกาศการเสนอชื่อสำหรับแต่ละประเภทและผู้ชนะของรางวัลแห่งความสำเร็จ
วง BTS ได้รับการเสนอชื่อเข้าชิงทั้งหมด 5 ประเภท ได้แก่ ‘ ‘Record of the Year’, ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Musician of the Year’ และ Album and Music Genre และได้รับรางวัล ‘Best Pop’ และชนะรางวัล สุดยอดเพลงแห่งปี 2020 เป็นครั้งแรกด้วยและรายชื่อของศิลปินเกาหลีที่ได้รับรางวัล Korean Music Awards มีดังนี้

พิธีมอบรางวัลนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อช่วยให้ดนตรีเกาหลีก้าวหน้าโดยไม่ต้องมีอุปสรรคระหว่างเพลงกระแสหลักและเพลงที่ไม่ใช่กระแสหลักได้ใหแฟนเพลงได้รู้จัก
รายชื่อผู้ชนะจะถูกประกาศในงาน Korean Music Awards ครั้งที่ 18 ในวันที่ 28 กุมภาพันธ์เวลา 18.00 น. ตามเวลาเกาหลีที่ Nodeulseom ในโซล ประกาศจะถ่ายทอดสดทางออนไลน์
